Ukrainian Firefighters Struggle To Put Out A Big Fire Threatening Odesa's Gandum Warehouse
JAKARTA - Firefighters in Odesa, southern Ukraine, struggled to extinguish the blaze that threatened a wheat warehouse.
No casualties or injuries were reported as a result of a fire that stretched about 2,000 meters and scorched some of the facilities in Vizyrka village. Authorities did not specify the cause.
"Thanks to the fire brigade's swift action, the fire can be prevented from spreading to the nearest wheat warehouse," state emergency services said.
Authorities did not name the damaged facility near the port of the Black Sea of Pivdenyi, one of Ukraine's largest ports.
