Rizki Juniansyah, The Olympic Record Breaker With A Number Of Menterenging Notes

JAKARTA - Indonesian weightlifter, Rizki Juniansyah, successfully made Indonesia proud at the 2024 Paris Olympics. In addition to extending the gold acquisition of the Indonesian contingent, Rizki also broke the record for the force at this Olympics.

Rizki earned gold and a new record when he appeared at the South Paris Arena on Friday, August 9, 2024, early morning WIB.

At that moment Rizki was able to record a total force of 354 kilograms to beat two of his competitors, Weeraphon Wichhuma and Dimitrov Bozhidar Andreev.

Rizki was able to bulldoze 155 kilograms of snatch. The 21-year-old athlete failed in the first attempt, but was successful in the second attempt.

Meanwhile, when the lift was clean & jerk, Rizki managed to lift 191 kilograms at the first opportunity. On the second transition, he increased the weight to 199 kilograms and succeeded. The record automatically made Rizki record clean & jerk at the Olympics.

Previously, the men's 73 kg clean & jerk record at the Olympics was held by Chinese lifter Shi Zhiyong, with an lift of 198 kg.

Not only about the record class, Rizki also made a new history as the first lifter to donate an Olympic gold medal for Indonesia.

The previous seven Olympic editions, gold medals for Indonesia were all donated to badminton.

Thanks to Rizki's gold medal as well, Indonesia was able to repeat the success of 32 years ago or the 1992 Barcelona Olympics where the Red-White Contingent won two golds in one edition.

You see, after Indonesia was able to bring home two golds in Barcelona 1992, the Red and White Contingent had the most gold medals in the next six editions.

Rizki's flashy record did not stop there. His name is listed as the youngest Indonesian athlete in Indonesia to win a gold medal at the Olympics.

Rizki's achievement in winning a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics has indeed been seen from his previous potential.

Although he was constrained by the health condition due to the dead end, Rizki proved that he was able to rise when appearing at the 2004 IWF World Cup in Phuket. He set a world record totaling 365 kilograms.

Personal Life

The world of weightlifting is nothing new for Rizki. Since the age of nine, he has learned to lift the load.

This cannot be separated from the role of his father, Muhammad Yasin, who is an Indonesian weightlifter at the 1983 to 1993 SEA Games.

With that background, it is not surprising that the young man who was born in Serang, Banten, June 17, 2003, can grow and develop into an outstanding lifter.

Rizki has made a positive note since appearing at the junior level. He won Junior World Championships in 2021 and 2022.
