Local Transportation Complaints, Illegal Travel Car Operates In Garut Confiscated By Police

Garut Resort Police (Polres) confiscated nine illegal travel cars. The existence of the person's travel transportation is complained of by official public transportation in Garut.

"The results of the action were that the Garut Police Traffic Unit managed to secure nine units of dark 'travel' vehicles," said Head of the Garut Police Traffic Unit Iptu Aang Andi Suhandi in Garut, Friday, August 9, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said the prosecution of illegal travel cars was based on reports of complaints from public transportation business actors operating in the Garut area.

The existence of the car, he said, disappointed the public transport driver and went on strike and then asked the authorities to take action against the illegal activities of the people's transportation car.

Aang conveyed that the actions and demands of public transport drivers in the southern region made the Garut Police Traffic Unit immediately move and take action until they finally managed to catch the nine cars.

"The Garut Police Traffic Unit's quick response carried out intense dark 'travel' action in the southern route area of Garut Regency," he said.

He explained that the illegal car activity carrying people's travel had violated Article 308 in conjunction with Article 173 paragraph 1 letter a regarding not having a permit to organize people's transportation in the route.

The owner of the vehicle that was confiscated by the police, he said, was given a ticket and a warning, then made a statement so that they would no longer carry out illegal transportation activities.

"We will make a statement and will coordinate with related agencies so that they do not become widespread about the activities carried out by the driver or this dark 'travel'," he said.

He added that the police will also continue to carry out raids and socialization to ensure that there are no more illegal travel activities for people operating in the Garut area.

"We will not get tired of taking action against dark 'travel', we will provide guidance, and socialize about the dangers and negative impacts of using illegal 'travel' services," he said.
