Commemoration Of The 79th Anniversary Of The Republic Of Indonesia, The Palace Starts Distributing Invitations To Megawati To SBY
The State Palace invited a number of former presidents and former vice presidents, such as the fifth President Megawati Soekarnoputri to the sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) to attend the celebration of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) East Kalimantan, on August 17, 2024.
Deputy for Protocol and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, M Yusuf Permana said the invitation was sent today, Thursday, August 8, 2024.
"Today's plan, for the former, both the former president and vice president, will immediately be sent an invitation," he said when met at the Presidential Palace complex, last Thursday.
After spreading the invitation, Yusuf said, the Presidential Secretariat would also ask for confirmation of attendance from invited figures to facilitate their presence.
"We will also carry out or request confirmation of his presence so that we can arrange the plan for his presence as well as possible," he said.
It is known that the commemoration of the proclamation of independence in the celebration of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day will be held at IKN. The celebration of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day at IKN is the first in the history journey of the Indonesian nation.
It is planned that the celebration of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day will be carried out in a hybrid or connected manner at IKN and the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. The Palace also divided the invitations to attend the two places.

The Garuda Palace, IKN: President and first lady, elected president, former president, heads of state institutions, ministers, TNI commanders and police chiefs, TNI chiefs of staff, religious leaders, community leaders, cultural leaders, general communities around IKN and IKN development workers.
Merdeka Palace, Jakarta: Vice president, vice president elected, former vice president, ministers, community leaders, religious leaders, cultural leaders, TNI-Polri officials, ASN, communities around the Merdeka Palace to ambassadors of friendly countries.
