KM Syukurillah Drowns In The Waters Of Central Papua Mimika, 14 Passengers Are Safe, 1 Is Missing

CENTRAL PAPUA - The Search and Rescue Office (SAR) stated that KM Syukurillah had 15 passengers drowning around the waters of Amar, Mimika, Central Papua.

Head of the Timika SAR Operations and Alert Sub-Section, Charles Y. Batlajery, said that this incident was known to his party based on reports from the public.

"Of the 15 passengers, 14 have been found and one is still being searched and their whereabouts are not yet known," he said in a statement, Thursday, August 8, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to Charles, KM Syukurillah, who was loaded with wood, departed from Tapormai to Timika, drowning in the waters of Amar. The joint SAR team using RB 217 was then deployed from Timika to go to the scene of the incident/

"We hope that today's weather will support SAR operations," he said.

He explained that his party received the latest information from the Berlian 4 Ocean Ship which participated in the search that currently 14 victims were found.

"Data of victims on behalf of Awaludin as captain, Jumardin, Adnan, Ardhi, Abdulah, Wahab ( sensor operator), Joni, Robin, Asgam, Mamo, Sarina, Iwan, and Agus," he said again.

He added that while one passenger who is still being searched is Boin, who is currently still in the process of being SAR operations by the joint team.

"We hope the weather supports to be able to carry out SAR operations on victims of Keis, and hopefully he can be found as soon as possible," he said.
