Man Caught Taking 49 Bags Of Methamphetamine Beside The Directorate Of Socially Captivated Tuna Arrested By Police

MALUKU - Ternate Resort Police (Polres) in North Maluku (Malut) arrested a man carrying 49 plastic bags containing 17.50 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

"Yes, that's right, the Ternate Police Narcotics Unit has arrested LRS, who was caught carrying a plastic bag suspected of containing methamphetamine," said Ternate Police Chief AKBP Niko Irawan in Ternate, Thursday, August 8, as reported by Antara.

The man with the initials LRS (31 years old), who is a resident of Jati Trans Village, South Ternate District and was arrested on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 night, thanks to community participation.

The evidence that was secured was 49 small clear plastics containing white powder suspected of having methamphetamine weighing 17.50 grams.

Separately, the Head of Drugs at the Ternate Police, Iptu Suherman, said that during the arrest he was led directly by the Head of Unit 2 Bripka Irfan Zainal.

"After receiving information from the public, we immediately carried out an investigation around the location that had been conveyed by the public, while conducting an investigation, the reported person was in Kalumata, to be precise on the right side of the office of the Directorate of Social Cash and KPO, using a motorbike with suspicious movements," said Suherman.

Not long after, the reported head down and immediately took a black plastic bag and immediately rode his motorbike to the south.

"Until members of the Drug Unit immediately chased the reported party in the pursuit of members of the Narcotics Unit, they found the reported hiding in the river behind the Ternate City DPRD Office. The reported party was then secured and taken to the Resort Police for questioning," said Suherman.

"For this reason, his party appeals to the people of Ternate City to always monitor their respective areas of drug trafficking or alcoholic beverages, especially the type of rat Cap, if they find or hear, immediately report it to the nearest Police," he said.
