British Muslim Mr Tee Share Free Cone Ice Cream To Police After Antimigrant Riots
JAKARTA - A British Muslim in his van ice cream distributed free ice cone. This gift is a thank you to the police who are trying to control racist and antimigrant riots.
Mr. Tee, King of Dessert posted a TikTok video taken in the city of Sunderland, England. The video has been viewed more than 2.6 million times. In the video, Mr. Tee appears to offer ice cream to a number of policemen who are in a van.
"We just thought we would show them a little love," Tee, whose real name is Ashiq, told Reuters on Wednesday, August 7.
The distribution of free ice cream caught the attention of the British public, who mostly thought the riots could not be justified, according to YouGov's recent poll.
"It's brilliant - remember behind the uniform there are father, husband, brother uncle, human," said the 1970 sayithowitis commentator.
Riots broke out in anti-immigration protests in major and small cities across the UK last week, with attacks by right-wing groups on hotels housing asylum seekers and mosques.
Mr. Tee said most of the praise for the video came from non-Muslims who value their community.
"Only a handful of people are unfortunately (not) feeling something like this," said Tee.

Based in the town of Wrexham, northern Wales, Tee said he would take a week off to ease tensions across the country.
"Some people are afraid to leave the house, especially women, they don't want to be seen walking in a hijab," he said.
But Mr. Tee called the reaction to the video a reason to hope.
"This only shows the native British colors and the people who live here, and of course the friendly side of the people here," he said.
