Iran Strengthens Its Eastern Air Defense With New Radar And Missile Interceptors
JAKARTA - The air defense system in eastern Iran gained additional power with the presence of radar and the latest missile interceptor on Wednesday.
The inauguration of the latest air defense system was carried out by the Commander of the Iranian Air Defense Forces Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard.
He visited various parts of the location and radar position of the air defense unit in the eastern region, while evaluating the level of combat readiness and operational capabilities of these units.
Air Defense Forces, as Iran's main defense system, played an effective role in increasing the country's armed forces fighting force, Brigadier General Sabahifard said, quoted from IRNA Aug. 7.
He said Iran was stronger than ever in the defense sector, adding "we ensure that we respond firmly to all kinds of threats."
Brigadier General Sabahifard stressed that the steps taken to improve radar, missile, and drone capabilities are in line with the perceived and emerging threats, resulting in the power to deal with all kinds of threats being a serious agenda, Quoted from Mehr.
Yesterday, Deputy Air Defense Commander of the Iranian Army Brigadier General Alireza Elhami said the country's Army unit would receive new equipment.

"The production of ground-based equipment and the latest missile system with a longer range is on our agenda," he said.
He explained that Iran's Army Air Defense updated and prepared itself, and increased its strength in various fields, including the drone sector, radar, and information gathering systems.
"We are 100 percent independent and do not rely on foreign equipment, and the security of our air borders does not depend on foreign countries," he explained.
