Densus Arrests 2 ISIS Supporters In West Jakarta

JAKARTA - The National Police's Anti-terror Detachment 88 arrested two suspects of terrorism in the West Jakarta area. Both are supporters of Daulah Islamiyah or Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

"The arrest of two terrorism suspects committed by law enforcement by Densus 88," said Densus 88 Anti-terror Spokesperson Kombes Aswin Siregar to reporters, Wednesday, August 7.

The two terrorist suspects had the initials RJ and AM. The action against them was carried out on August 6.

They are exposed to radical ISIS ideology and often upload propaganda narratives to their respective social media.

"Then it was also known that the person concerned raised the ISIS flag while holding a gun accompanied by a statement or invitation to support the existence of Islamiyah or ISIS," said Aswin.

In addition, from the deepening, they have also assembled explosives. Allegedly, both of them have plans to carry out acts of terrorism in the near future.

"Based on the investigation carried out, we know that these 2 people have also assembled the material for the perpetrators who have been secured by Densus 88 investigators," said Aswin.
