Russia Thwarts Ukraine's Efforts To Break The Border
JAKARTA - Russian troops thwarted Ukraine's attempt to penetrate the border. In this incident, two people were killed.
Alexei Smirnov, acting head of Russia's southern Kursk region, said the troops and border forces of the Federal Security Service (FSB) managed to dispel the Ukrainian attack.
Russian troops are reportedly overcoming the armed "provocation" carried out by Ukraine. There has been no comment from Ukraine.
The MASH Telegram channel, which has contacts in the Russian state security sector, said about 100 Ukrainian fighters had tried to enter Russia in the Sudzha area of Kursk.
Smirnov wrote on Telegram that villages had been targeted by massive shootings from Ukraine.

He said a female civilian was killed in Sudzha and a man driving a minibus near Nekhaevka village died on the spot when he was hit by a military drone. Across the region, 13 people were injured.
"The situation in the border area is still difficult, but our defenders managed to destroy the enemy," Smirnov said.
Russian territory near the Ukrainian border - mainly Belgorod, which borders Kursk, is often targeted by Ukraine's shootings during the war in Ukraine, as well as occasional attacks by Russia's anti-Kremlin volunteer groups fighting on the Ukrainian side.
