Padangsidimpuan Police Failed To Send 10 Bal Cannabis To Bekasi
The Padangsidimpuan Resort Police (Polres), North Sumatra thwarted the shipment of 10 bales of dried marijuana weighing 10 kilograms (kg) to Bekasi City, West Java via an online expedition service in Padangsidimpuan City.
"We secured evidence of 10 bales or packages stored in two boxes containing 10 kg of dried marijuana leaves," said Padangsidimpuan Police Narcotics Head AKP Jasama Sidabutard reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 6.
The delivery of marijuana leaves, he continued, was revealed after his party received information from an expedition officer, on Tengku Rizal Nurdin Street, Padangsidimpuan City, North Sumatra, Thursday (1/8).
The officers also secured three men, namely Abdul Ariansyah alias AA (32), Hermansyah Siagian alias HS (32) and Irfansyah Harahap alias IH (31).
"Initially, the expedition officer found marijuana in a cardboard box when opening the contents of some of the packages delivered by one of the men," he explained.
Not long after, the expedition officer contacted the Padangsidimpuan Police Narcotics Unit to check the truth of the dried marijuana leaves from Mandailing Natal (Madina) Regency, North Sumatra.
The officer who received the information went straight to the location to check CCTV, and pocketed the identity of the perpetrator who delivered the dried marijuana leaf package.
"Officers searched for the perpetrators and secured AA on Jalan Sisingamangaraja, Sitamiang Village on Thursday night. The perpetrator AA who delivered this dried marijuana to an expedition," said Jasama.

To the officers, AA admitted that he was ordered by HS and IH to send the package of dried marijuana leaves with a salary of Rp. 350 thousand, and officers arrested both of them at Batunadua Terminal, Padangsidimpuan City.
"HS is a recidivist, a resident of South Tapanuli, and IH a resident of Ujung Gurap Village. The two perpetrators claimed to have obtained the illicit goods from someone in Madina," he said.
In addition to securing evidence of 10 kg of dried marijuana leaves, the Padangsidimpuan Police Narcotics Unit also confiscated three cellphones, Rp20 thousand in cash, and motorized rickshaws.
"The three perpetrators were detained at the Padangsidimpuan Police for further processing," said Jasama Sidabutar.
