Success In Australian Market, Ford Will Add New Model Ranks

JAKARTA - Along with its two models, Ranger and Everest continue to dominate sales in the Australian market, Ford is preparing to launch several additional models.

Based on a report from local media, drive, quoted Tuesday, August 6, several models that will be present in Australia include an electric version of Puma launching for the local market by 2025.

In addition, Ford will also launch a new Tourneo that uses the same chassis as Van Transit, Mustang Mach-E to F-150. Later, this one model will become a strong competitor to Kia Carnival and Hyundai Staria.

Meanwhile, the plug in hybrid version of the Ranger will also be launched in early 2025, and will be Australia's second plug in hybrid vehicle after BYD Shark.

The presence of various models mentioned above is mentioned thanks to the positive achievements of manufacturers in Australia. Looking at the data, in the first six months of 2024, the Ford Ranger contributed 67.6 percent of Ford's sales in Australia, while the Everest model made at the same plant in Thailand accounted for 22.7 percent, a new record figure that made it Australia's second best-selling car manufacturer with 49,622 vehicles registered between January 2024 and June 2024, behind the Toyota (121,301), Mazda (48,547), Kia (41,300), Mitsubishi (39,634), Hyundai (36,082) and Isuzu Ute (25,903).

Earlier, in 2023 the Rangers and Everest accounted for 84.7 percent of Ford's sales in Australia, even the Ranger ended Toyota HiLux's seven-year streak of wins by beating its rivals in 2023, becoming the first Ford to top its annual sales chart in Australia since the 1995 Falcon EF.

The car continues to be Australia's best-selling car in the first six months of 2024, beating Toyota HiLux (28,515), Toyota RAV4 (25,405), Isuzu D-Max (15,820), and Mitsubishi Outlander (14,443).
