Rich Indonesians, EMI Reveals 60 Percent Of Mazda Buyers At GIIAS 2024 Without Installment

JAKARTA - Mazda successfully participated in the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) with positive results. Through the single agent holding the PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia (EMI) brand, this brand reads 833 Vehicle Ordering Letters (SPK) during the 11-day event.

However, there are interesting facts about this acquisition. Most customers buy Mazda vehicles with cash (cash) systems compared to credit.

PT EMI Chief Operating Officer Ricky Thio, revealed that 60 percent of consumers use cash payment methods and another 40 percent rely on credit systems and prove buyers in the country are able to buy cash.

"The method for buying Mazda's car during GIIAS 2024 is 60 percent cash and 40 percent credit. This proves that Indonesians are able to buy cash," Ricky said in his presentation at the Media Morning Dialogue event in Simprug, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 6.

This is relatively surprising given that manufacturers from Japan offer premium products and do not have low-end vehicle lines such as Low Cost Green Car (LCGC), LMPV, LSUV, and others.

"This is interesting because Mazda doesn't have an LCGC-like line-up or low segment, and the average high-end segment," added Ricky.

He also added that customers who use credit systems on average use an installment system of less than 5 years.

"The average can be 3 years and they can calculate each month's income and be able to pay in the not-long term," explained Ricky.

The CX-5 model is still the prima donna for Mazda customers by booking 237 SPK or contributing 28.5 percent. Then this was followed by CX-3 with 223 units or contributing 26.8 percent.

In third place is Mazda 3 Hatchback with 134 units or 16 percent contributed, CX-60 totaling 106 units or 12.7 percent, and CX-30 with 46 units or contributing 5.5 percent.

Meanwhile, the color most popular with customers is Soul Red Crystal Metallic with a 35 percent contribution from the overall SPK. This was followed by Machine Gray Metallic at 23 percent and Platinum Quartz at 11 percent.
