13 Victims Survive OPM Attack Evacuated From Alama Mimika

JAKARTA - Commander of the Joint Operations Command for the Defense Area (Kogabwilhan) III Lt. Gen. Richard T. H Tampubolon said the TNI-Polri Joint Task Force had evacuated 13 OPM survivors from Alama District, Mimika Regency, Central Papua.

"The evacuation was carried out through Yohanis Kapiyau Timika Air Base, Tuesday (6/8). The 13 survivors were six men, four women and three children," said Commander Kogabwilhand, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 6.

"He said there were 13 survivors consisting of health workers and teachers, all of whom had been safely evacuated to Timika today," he said.

According to Richard, so far the Free Papua Organization (OPM) has provoked, intimidated and propagated military operations to the public.

"The most important thing right now is that the TNI-Polri task force will enter the Alama area to convince the public that there is no military operation as stated by the OPM, that is not true, it does not exist," he said.

He explained that health workers (nakes) and teachers were present in Alama District, Mimika Regency to provide services to the community through the national building acceleration program in the fields of education and health.

"They (health workers and teachers) were traumatized by this incident and left the Alama District, we will try to restore their trauma by experts," he said again.

The joint TNI-Polri apparatus will take firm action against the brutal action of the Free Papua Organization (OPM) group, which brutally intimidates the public into taking lives.

"The joint TNI-Polri apparatus will take firm and measured action against the OPM group in Alama District," he said.
