PBNU Accuses PKB Of Masterminding The Demonstration In Front Of The PBNU Office Demands Gus Yahya To Resign

JAKARTA - Deputy Secretary General (Wasekjen) of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) Suleman Tanjung accused the demonstration demanding that PBNU General Chair Yahya Cholil Staquf (Gus Yahya) resign from his position by the National Awakening Party (PKB).

"We got a lot of evidence. They were indeed moved to attack PBNU," Suleman told reporters, Sunday, August 4.

Suleman explained that his party was investigating that a group of mass demonstrations on behalf of the Gus Dur Santri Alliance came from Jalan Raden Saleh, the location of the PKB DPP Office.

Then, according to him, the masses who came driving the bus were led by someone named Muhamad Solihin.

The results of the PBNU search, Solihin, are the administrators of the West Java PKB DPW and the former chairman of the Indramayu Regency PKB DPC.

"PCNU Indramayu has also confirmed that this mass was driven by several PKB people from Indramayu," said Suleman.

Suleman also assessed that the demands of the mass demonstration in front of his office seemed to support PKB General Chair Muhamin Iskandar in the issue of PKB and PBNU disharmony.

They are strange. In the name of Santri Gus Dur but instead defending Muhaimin. Cooking lover Gus Dur defends Gus Dur's enemy, doesn't make sense," he said.

For information, in the action which was held on Friday, August 2, the demonstrators carried a number of banners that read "The chairman of PBNU and the Secretary General of PBNU must resign", as well as "Ketum PBNU should not be a government agent".
