Danamon Rayakan Anniversary Ke-68 Dengan CSR Program Literasi Pembangunan Skill Dan Self-Branding Untuk Penyandang Disabilitas

JAKARTA - In commemoration of the 68th Anniversary, PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (Danamon) continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainable initiatives and strategies as part of ESG's commitment through various actions and collaborations including the CSR program. One of the CSR programs held is a literacy program that focuses on developing skills and self-branding for 68 people with disabilities.

According to the 2022 Decent Job Indicators Report from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), of the 2,297 million people with disabilities, only 78 million (3.13 percent) have the opportunity to work. The 2020 National Labor Force survey shows that the trade industry, restaurants, and hotels contributed 21.8 percent of the total workplace for people with disabilities.

The Food & Beverage (F&B) sector has great potential to absorb labor for persons with disabilities because the majority of types of work in this sector can be done by people with disabilities with various abilities.

In accordance with Law Number 8 of 2016, private companies are required to employ at least one percent of people with disabilities from the number of employees, and two percent for SOEs. However, the realization is still under these provisions. Therefore, support and skills are needed so that people with disabilities have equal opportunities and opportunities so that they can be economically independent.

In 2023, Danamon Peduli will run a financial literacy program as well as training and skills internship to become a barista for the deaf silent community in Jabodetabek. Of the 292 applicants, in a series of training and internship events, participants will be taught knowledge about coffee theory and engineering to become barista, as well as how to manage good business finances.

From this program, 40 baristas are ready to work, even more than half of which have succeeded in getting the opportunity to work at a coffee shop or in other types of businesses. For these results, in 2024, Danamon Peduli will develop this program by adding material about the creation of attractive Curriculum vitae (CV) as well as knowledge about the environment and disaster. In addition to training, Danamon also opens assistance and business competitions for the deaf community that already have businesses.

These two activity packages are part of Danamon's social responsibility to increase the ability and confidence of fellow disabled in order to compete in the professional world. Danamon partnered again with Yayasan Sunyi Harapan Indonesia, a foundation engaged in education to create inclusiveness and reduce gaps for persons with disabilities.

Overall, this program will be divided into two training classes in Jakarta, two batches in Bandung, as well as two business mentoring batches, with a total of 68 beneficiaries that will be part of the celebration of Danamon's 68th Anniversary. The first kick-off training was held at Sunyi Coffee Barito on July 30, 2024, attended by Widyarini Utami Talent Acquisition, Employer Branding, Performance & Culture Head of Bank Danamon which directly conveyed the material regarding CV's manufacturing skills.
