Police Arrest 2 ASDP Cable Thieves At Bakauheni Port

JAKARTA - Police personnel from the Bakauheni Port Area Sector (KSKP), South Lampung Police arrested two perpetrators of cable thieves belonging to PT ASDP at Pier Lima Bakauheni Port.

"The team in danger of 308 has succeeded in arresting two perpetrators of theft with a Weight (Curat) that occurred on August 1, 2024, at the pedestrian Gangway in the pier area of five Bakauheni Ferry Ports, South Lampung," said Kapolsek KSKP Bakauheni, AKP Firman Widya Putra, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, August 3.

The two perpetrators were WAP male (27) a resident of Sumur, Pengmedian District, South Lampung and U (21) a resident of Malingpink, Lebak Regency, Banten.

"The two perpetrators were arrested on August 2, 2024 for stealing an LAN beleden cable roller, three POE CCTV units 2 Switch TP-Link, one unit of Access Point Pier, one white cable left cut," he said.

The perpetrators acted only using simple equipment such as knives and scissors to cut cables.

"The perpetrator cut the cable using a cutter knife and then put it in a black plastic bag," he said.

As a result of this incident, ASDP suffered a loss of eight million five hundred thousand rupiah and ship services at dock IV were hampered because they could not scan tickets on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at around 20.30 WIB.

"The evidence that was secured was an LAN beleden cable roller, three CCTV POE units, two TP-Link Twitch, one Access Point Pier unit, one flash drive containing CCTV footage when the perpetrator was about to cut the cable," he said.

As a result of their actions, the perpetrators are now being detained at the Bakauheni KSKP Police Headquarters for further investigation and charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code.
