Deputy Minister Sudaryono Reveals The Addition Of Rice Fields In Central Java Is More Than 100 Thousand Hectares, The Largest Of The National

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Wamentan) Sudaryono said the achievement of adding rice farming land in Central Java was the largest nationally.

"The achievement of increasing the area of Central Java's planting area is more than 100 000 ha, which is the largest nationally," said Sudaryono, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, August 2.

However, said Sudaryono, if you look at the percentage increase in land area, he continued, Central Java is still below West Java.

He said the pumping program had succeeded in increasing the planting area significantly and increasing the harvest.

However, according to him, the achievement of the addition of the rice planting area still has to be accelerated.

There are challenges in the season for the next few months that must be faced in an effort to increase food production.

In supporting the pumping program, he continued, the Ministry of Agriculture also formed a Pumping Task Force in various regions in Indonesia.

Around 1,500 employees of the Ministry of Agriculture, he said, have been given additional duties to ensure the implementation of the program in each sub-district.

In addition to providing food reserves, according to him, the expansion of the planting area through this pumping program is also expected to be able to improve the welfare of farmers.

Meanwhile, Pangdam IV/Diponegoro Maj. Gen. Deddy Suryadi added that the realization of the addition of rice planting areas in Central Java has reached 110,000 ha.

"It has been realized by 68 percent of the target of 159,000 ha," he said.

He ensured efforts to realize the program until the target was realized.
