DKPP Questions Pasaman Bawaslu's Attitude On No Plenary Panwascam Participating In KPU Selection

JAKARTA - The Election Organizers Honorary Council (DKPP) questioned the attitude of former Chairman of Bawaslu Pasaman, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) Lumban Tori who did not hold a plenary meeting when a member of the Panswascam in the district participated in the selection of members of the Padang City KPU.

"There are members of the Panwascam who register as members of the Padang KPU, but why not do a plenary response," asked DKPP Chairman Heddy Lugito at the hearing to examine alleged violations of the Election Implementation Code of Ethics (KEPP) case number 114-PKE-DKPP/VI/2024 in Padang, Friday.

This was questioned by the Chairman of the DKPP after listening to the statement by the Chairman of the West Sumatra Province Bawaslu Alni regarding the existence of a panwascam in Pasaman Regency following the selection at the Padang City KPU, but the former Chairman of Bawaslu Pasaman Lumban Tori did not follow up.

In fact, the trial revealed that Bawaslu members of Pasaman Regency had asked Lumban Tori to hold a plenary meeting regarding the status of panwascam members who participated in the selection of the Padang City KPU.

At the trial, the Chairperson of the DKPP continued to ask why Lumban Tori did not hold a plenary meeting considering that other Bawaslu Pasaman members had suggested a plenary meeting.

In line with that, the Head of West Sumatra Bawaslu, Alni, said that the issue of panwascam members in Pasaman Regency who participated in the selection of Padang KPU members had been included in the West Sumatra Bawaslu study.

From the information collected by Bawaslu, it is known that Bawaslu Pasaman members have asked Lumban Tori to immediately plenary the status of the Panwascam member. However, Lumban Tori did not respond to this suggestion.

"Friends of Bawaslu Pasaman have asked that the status of this Panwascam member be decided but not followed up," he said.

Meanwhile, former Chairman of Bawaslu Pasaman Lumban Tori did not deny that he did not hold a plenary meeting regarding a member of the Panwascam who also registered as a member of the Padang City KPU.

"There has been no plenary meeting because at that time it was still in the process of recapitulating the election," he said.
