Meet Erick Thohir, Heru Budi Bahas Komersialization Of BUMN Buildings When Left To IKN

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono discussed plans to utilize building assets belonging to state-owned enterprises (BUMN) in the future with SOE Minister Erick Thohir.

This discussion took place when Heru visited the BUMN office to meet Erick Thohir on Thursday, August 1.

During the meeting, Erick and Heru discussed the plan to commercialize BUMN offices in Jakarta to be leased after the capital city officially moved to Nusantara, East Kalimantan.

"Our concept, for example, is that the BUMN office can become commercial. What commercial needs to be discussed in the future," said Heru at Pramuka Market, East Jakarta, Friday, August 2.

Heru said the assets planned for commercialization were in ring 1 or around the State Palace area and the National Monument.

"The Pertamina office in front of Istiqlal is what the concept is. Well, we are currently discussing this with the Minister of SOEs," said Heru.

The head of the Presidential Secretariat admitted that the DKI Provincial Government is also synchronizing Jakarta's spatial planning to be arranged after IKN.

The main purpose of the arrangement is to make Jakarta a global city. Thus, coordination with the central government continues.

"What is prioritized is the Monas area and its surroundings. The Palace, Monas, Gambir, City Hall, we arrange so that in the future we can follow the pattern of world cities. Jakarta should not be left behind," said Heru.

"Therefore, those who have forward thoughts, I will consult with the Ministry of SOEs. Later after that, we will certainly coordinate with the Minister of Finance, and so on," he added.

Previously, Erick Thohir said that his party was conducting business assessments to several countries to create added value for the assets of BUMN-owned buildings around Monas, Jakarta.

Erick said that SOEs have 13 assets around Monas, including the building owned by PT Pertamina (Persero).

"Later, if the government moves, these buildings will be neglected. Now that's a shame if it's not in value creation, that's why yesterday we took a roadshow with potential property players who want to see this as opportunity," explained Erick.
