Praise The Success Of IDF And Shin Bet Killed Defif, Israeli Defense Minister: Big Steps To Eradicate Hamas

JAKARTA - Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant praised the success of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet intelligence services in killing Muhammad Defif as a major measure to eradicate the militant group Hamas.

"The assassination of Muhammad Defif, "Bin Laden from Gaza" on July 13, 2024, is a major step in eradicating Hamas as a military and government organization, and to achieve the war goals we set," he tweeted on social media X, as quoted August 1.

"High and precise quality operations are possible thanks to the optimal cooperation between the IDF and the Shin Bet and those who lead them. The results of these operations make it clear that Hamas is an organization that is experiencing disintegration, and terrorists must choose between surrender or death," he continued.

As previously reported, the IDF confirmed that Muhammad Defif, the military wing commander of the Hamas Brigade Izzuddin al-Qassam, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the southern Gaza Strip last month.

The military said it had obtained intelligence information confirming its death in recent hours.

Defif was targeted by an attack on the complex owned by Rafa'a Salameh, commander of the Khan Younis Hamas Brigade, in the Khan Younis region, on July 13, reported The Times of Israel.

"The security system will pursue Hamas terrorists, ranging from planning the massacre to the perpetrators, and will not stop until the mission is complete," said Gallant.
