Ohio Residents Can Now Add SIM And KTP To The IPhone Wallet App
Jakarta - Ohio is officially the fifth state to support the addition of a State Identity SIM and Card to the Wallet app on the iPhone and Apple Watch.
In 2020, Apple announced plans to allow iPhone owners to add their passports, SIMs and ID cards to iPhone devices. However, until four years later, only a few states have adopted this feature.
According to reports from 9to5mac, Ohio residents can now add their driver's license or ID card to the iPhone or Apple Watch. This feature allows them to pass several Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) checkpoints more quickly and safely.
Currently, the IDs stored on the Wallet cannot be used at all airports, but the TSA provides a list of airports that receive digital IDs on their websites.

Wallet apps on iPhone and Apple Watch allow users to store and manage various types of digital cards and IDs, including SIM and State Identity Cards (IDs) from several US states. Here's how this app works:
Registration: Users must register on the Wallet app by following the instructions provided by Apple and local authorities. This process usually requires identity verification through official applications or websites.
ID download: After registration, users can add their SIM or ID card to the Wallet application. This process often involves scanning physical documents and confirming the information listed.
Encryptions: Digital IDs are stored on iPhones or Apple Watches with high-level encryption to protect user data from unauthorized access.
Verification: To use digital ID, users may be asked to verify their identities via biometric authentication (such as Face ID or Touch ID) or via PIN.
Airport: When passing the TSA checkpoint, users can show their digital ID from the Wallet app. This ID will be scanned by compatible devices at the TSA checkpoint. Digital IDs are not accepted at all airports, but TSA provides a list of locations that support this feature.
Elsewhere: Apart from airports, digital IDs can be used in various places that support this technology. Users can show their IDs in places that require age or identity verification.
