Heniyeh Dies In Iran, President Pezeshkian: Yesterday I Raised My Hand, Today Holds His Coffin

JAKARTA - President Masoud Pezeshkian said the death of Ismail Haniyeh would strengthen ties between Iran and Palestine, while the Foreign Ministry said the bleeding of the Head of the Hamas Political Bureau would not be in vain.

In his upload on social media, President Pezeshkian said Iran was grieving the death of Haniyeh.

"Yesterday, I raised his winning hand and today I have to carry his coffin on my shoulders," President Pezeshkian wrote on X, as quoted July 31.

"Haniyeh's murder will make the ties between Iran and Palestine stronger than ever, and the path of resistance and defense against the oppressed will be followed stronger than ever before," he said.

Palestinian militant group Hamas confirmed Ismail Haniyeh was killed in Tehran on Wednesday. He is in Iran's capital to take part in the inauguration of the elected president on Tuesday afternoon.

Previously, he had met with Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Pezeshkian on separate occasions before the inauguration.

"Iran's Islamic Republic will maintain its territorial integrity and honor and will make terrorist invaders regret their coward actions," the Iranian president stressed.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry said Haniyeh's death would not be in vain, quoted from IRNA.

Haniyeh is a tireless warrior who has fought the Israeli regime throughout his life to free the holy Al-Quds, Nasser Badhi said.

He continued, organizations related to the Islamic Republic are investigating the case.

You can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't.
