Gemini Side Panel To Be Launched At Google Drive PDF Performers

JAKARTA Google launched Gemini's side panel on Google Drive last May, but this big language model (LLM) only appears on the main page. Now, Gemini's side panel is seen in PDF performers. Reporting from 9to5google, this side panel uses Gemini 1.5 Pro so its capabilities are much better. By adding Gemini, Google Drive users can summarize the long and elusive PDF content. Users can also ask questions related to PDF content, create learning guides or email drafts using PDF content, and enter further information by combining PDF and other files on Drive. Gemini's integration can be used in paper documents or Word which are converted into PDF, PDFs made from computers, PDFs with multiple posts, and PDFs containing many complicated tables.

To access Gemini's side panel in PDF, go to the Google Drive website and double-click on the PDF you want to open. Once open in the new tab, users will see Gemini's glare icon in the top right corner of the screen. When the icon is clicked, the side panel will appear in black to match the PDF performer background. Users can shrink or remove the side panel with a small icon seen at the top of the panel. Gemini's side panel for PDF performers on Google Drive will be launched in stages over the coming weeks. Users who can access Gemini's side panel are Google One AI Premium and Add-on Gemini subscribers.
