Perdana's Speech As Iran's President, Masoud Pezeshkian Invites The World To Cooperate, Affirms Peaceful Islam Of Religion

JAKARTA - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called on the international community to work closely with Iran to address regional and global challenges, asserting Islam is a peaceful religion, in his inaugural speech after the inauguration.

President Pezeshkian welcomed high-ranking officials and representatives from more than 80 countries who took part in his inauguration ceremony.

The inauguration ceremony began at 16:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday in the main hall of the Iranian Parliament in downtown Tehran. He then delivered a speech to the audience in parliament.

"The world needs to take advantage of this unrivaled opportunity to address regional and global issues through Iran's strong collaboration, seeking peace, and dignified," President Pezeshkian said, launching IRNA July 30.

Furthermore, he expressed his commitment to safeguarding Iran's dignity and interests on the international stage, with the support of the Iranian people and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, while trying to forge consensus among all political factions in the country.

As the core of its foreign policy, the president highlighted three main principles: dignity, wisdom and benefit.

Furthermore, he promised constructive involvement with the world would be the basis for his government's approach to foreign affairs.

President Pezeshkian also stressed the need for an area free from extremist influences, emphasizing that regional countries should not allow some radical voices to wrongly describe nearly two billion free-minded Muslims.

"Islam is a peaceful religion," he said.

Furthermore, he voiced a strong desire for a world in which Palestinians are free from occupation and oppression of the world where "there are no Palestinian children dreams buried under the rubble of their homes".

As for matters in the country, President Pezeshkian outlined the objectives of his government, pledging to prioritize sustainable development, economic power, and to increase the living standards of the Iranian people.
