Muhadkly Acho Raises Women's Conflict In Elephant Mother 2

JAKARTA - Muhadkly Acho is believed to be the director for the second season of the Elephant Mother 2 series. This series has the premise of the life of the Batak people with their family life.

As a director, Acho was asked a lot about his reasons for working on stories whose main characters were women. He said he did not develop his own story but was assisted by Iragita as the novel writer.

"Since writing in the first season, I have dreamed that this will continue with what the story is about, so when writing, I have left a room that is not open in the first season so that if we continue, we can show it with a different layer," said Muhadkly Acho at a press conference for the Elephant Mother series on Tuesday, July 30.

His first successful season made MD Pictures give Acho the opportunity to work on his second season.

Developing her first chat with Iragita Sembiring even though it's not a whole life story, but asking her and mama's relationship is the foundation. Elephant mother is a symbol of Mamak who always keeps her. I talk a lot," said Acho.

"Because I asked a woman I didn't dare to make a reaction on behalf of a woman but on the basis of thought Ira's voice needed to be heard," he continued.

Even though the main character is a woman, Acho hopes that the Mother Elephant series will be an reflection for parents who like to sue their children about life choices. The story, which has a Batak background, can also be witnessed and felt by other tribes.

"Actually (the series) is a portrait of a family. I write with the hope that at this time we are born a tribe or b and I take it from the background of Batak. I have a daughter, hopefully in 10-20 years, parents in Indonesia are more open-minded about implementing parenting in the family," he explained.

"The feud prioritizes customs and hopes that parents who watch also learn and how to practice it is not a burden but color it," said Acho again.

Elephant Mother 2 continues the story of Marsel (Dimas Anggara) and Ira (Marshanda) after marriage. Those who live with Marsel's parents feel confused because they are required to immediately have male offspring.

A total of 8 episodes, Elephant Mother 2 will air starting August 1 on Prime Video.
