Second Day Of Triathlon Exercise In The Sea Sea River Again Canceled Due To Bacteria Still Polluted
JAKARTA - The second day of triathlon rental exercise, Monday, July 29, 2024, was again canceled because the quality of water that is still polluted by bacterial pollution and the speed of the current of the Seie River.
In fact, in less than 24 hours the athletes will start the race. Fifty-five male triathlon athletes are scheduled to line up at 8 am local time on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.
They will line up at the floating pontoon next to Pont Alexandre III and dive into the Seine River.
Kemdudian, the women's individual triathlon race is scheduled for Wednesday, July 31, 2024, also at 8 am Paris time.

Organizers relied on sunny days on Monday to lower the surface of the water in the river and slow the flow.
"We believe we can hold the event on Tuesday. The river discharge required at one cubic meter per second has been fulfilled and we have no problems," Thobois told a news conference.
The final decision on whether Tuesday's race will be held or not will be broadcast at 4 am local time based on river samples taken 24 hours earlier.
Athletes will be notified immediately if the race is canceled. Organizers have set August 2, 2024 as a replacement day for the individual race.
Then, on August 6, 2024, it will be a substitute day for the mixed relay if the water quality does not improve on time.
However, some participants began to doubt the organizers' ability to start the race on time.
"They still seem very hopeful for the men's race on Tuesday and the women on Wednesday," said coach of the flaring team, Dan Hugo.
"If needed, either one or both will be moved to Friday," he said again.
The 2024 Paris Olympics have changed several schedules. One of them is that the men's skateboarding sport was postponed until Monday, on Saturday, July 27, 2024, it rained heavily.
Meanwhile, the Seine River which can be used for swimming is the main legacy that Olympic organizers want to leave behind for Parisis.
The triathlon race there marks the first time athletes have competed on the River See since it was last held in the 1900 edition.
France has invested about $1.4 billion in new wastewater infrastructure to reduce the amount of waste flowing into the Seine River.
Pemerintah Kota Paris telah mengumumkan rencana untuk membuka tiga lokasi gelombang bagi publik pada Juni 2025 di sana.
The triathlon training session on Sunday, July 28, 2024, was also canceled after tests carried out showed water quality did not meet the required threshold.
However, running and cycling training sessions remain unaffected.
"Given the weather forecast for the next 36 hours, Paris 2024 and World Triathlon believe that water quality will return below the limit before the start of the triathlon competition on July 30, 2024," organizers said in a statement on Monday, July 29, 2024.
The problem is, the quality of the Seeine River is polluted by bacteria that are not kidding. After water testing, it was found that the fun bacteria or feces were known as E. Coli.
The continuous rain for days has caused the bacterial levels to be very high and threaten the health of the athletes.
