2024 Olympics: Rinov/Pitha Eliminated
JAKARTA Mixed doubles pair Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Hanintyas Mentari are certain to fail to advance to the quarter-finals of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
This certainty was obtained after they lost two straight games 13-21 and 15-21 against the host pair, Thom Gicquel/Delphine Delrue, on Monday, July 29, 2024, afternoon WIB.
This defeat made the 2024 Spain Masters champion finish as the caretaker of Group A. From badminton, they are the second representatives of Indonesia who are confirmed to be eliminated.

Of the three matches in the group stage, Rinov/Pitha have only won once. The only victory occurred in the inaugural match against the South Korean pair, Kim Won-ho/Jeong Na-eun.
They then lost in the second match against the first seed from China, Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong, and followed the group's last duel today.
Two tickets to the quarter-finals of Group A were secured by Zheng/Huang and Kim/Jeong. The first pair qualified as group winners, the South Korean doubles qualified as runners-up.
Rinov/Pitha followed in the footsteps of women's doubles Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, who previously failed to advance to the quarter-finals even though they still had one remaining match.
