In Tears, Liana Purba Tells Her Sad Story To Deputy Mayor, Aulia Rachman: I Was Treated Like Trash

JAKARTA - Liana Purba, an enumerator for close contact with the COVID-19 patient, shared her sad story with the Deputy Mayor of Medan, Aulia Rachman. Liana was fired from her job by the Public Health Center (Puskesmas) after registering family members of employees at the Medan City Health Office.

Liana did not accept it because she was already on duty according to the standards set by the government. Among them, go to the field and carry out direct data collection. "But they just fired me arbitrarily. I think I was treated like garbage," said Liana to the Deputy Mayor of Medan, Aulia Rachman in her office, reported by era.id, Tuesday, March 23.

Liana also received information about her dismissal from her colleagues at the Public Health Center (Puskesmas). Liana ventured to confirm with National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB) and asked for an explanation from the Head of Sentosa Baru Public Health Center (Puskesmas).

"I have directly asked Mrs. Mutia Nimpar, Head of the Medan Health Office Disease Control and Eradication, by phone. But my number is blocked," continued Liana, shedding tears.

Hearing Liana's story, Aulia Rachman seemed furious and asked the authorities, among others; Head of National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB), Head of Sentosa Baru Public Health Center (Puskesmas), and Head of the Medan Health Office Disease Control and Eradication Division.

Turning on the speaker, she asked about Liana Purba's complaint.

"So you heard it right, sister, don't cry anymore. Nobody dared to fire you, sister. Don't try to do anything about them, especially if you're pregnant like this," said Aulia.

Aulia emphasized to the Health Office not to make decisions carelessly. Especially to the point of dismissing Tracer officers who apparently recorded and performed tasks according to SOPs in preventing the spread of Covid.

"I remind the Medan Health Service that it should not decide arbitrarily towards freelancers. We will act decisively," concluded Aulia.

According to Aulia, what was done by Liana Purba, was in accordance with the program of the Mayor of Medan, Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution in implementing the COVID-19 health protocol, as well as the 3T socialization, Testing, Tracing and Treatment, as well as the success of the vaccination program which is currently being carried out.
