Lampung Senators Think Yorrys Raweyai Doesn't Understand Organizations After The DPD Plenary Meeting Is Ricuh
JAKARTA - Member of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) RI for the electoral district (dapil) Lampung, Bustami Zainudin, responded to the statement by members of the DPD from the Papuan electoral district, Yorrys Raweyai who criticized the leadership style of the Chairman of the DPD RI La Nyalla Mattalitti in the aftermath of the chaos of the Plenary session on Friday, July 12.
Bustami assessed that the Chairman of Committee II of the DPD did not understand the organizational mechanism and was careless. Because, according to him, Yorrys covered up his defeat in a conflict of concepts and ideas by attacking the DPD leadership personally.
According to Bustami, the arguments, debate, and all the dynamics that occurred in the DPD Plenary Session were internal institutional issues. This, he said, was mandatory in all organizations, including in the DPR and DPD.
"However, what Yorry's Cs shows is otherwise careless and doesn't seem to understand the organizational mechanism. He (Yorry's, ed) slandered the leadership of the DPD, to cover up defeats in concepts and ideas in the organization's highest forum," Bustami told reporters, Friday, July 26.
Bustami said that Yorrys' attitude of attacking the DPD leadership had ignored the achievements and performance of all DPD members for the 2024-2029 period. Because he said, the DPD leadership worked collectively collegially and collaboratively and involved all members.
"The slander that he (Yorrys, ed) said was very misleading, damaging the dignity and image of the DPD institutionally. We ask Yorrys Cs to return to the organizational corridor, obey the mechanisms and laws and regulations, and uphold ethics as public officials," said the Senator from Lampung.

Bustami then explained about the new Order (Tatib) of the DPD which was referred to as the trigger for the chaos in the DPD Plenary Session, Jum'at, last July 12.
He admitted that he knew and understood the entire process of the Tatib trip, because he was a member of the Special Committee for the Special Committee of the Armed Forces, as well as a member of the Team of Work (Timja Tatib).
Bustami also ensured that the discussion of the DPD Tatib was in accordance with the mechanisms and laws and regulations. Therefore, he suspects that there are forces or interests behind the chaos created by Yorrys and several DPD members, in the DPD Plenary Session.
"The rules in the DPD Rules that are questioned, are not new things. What's wrong if the rules require candidates for DPD leadership for the 2024-2029 period, not people who have been sanctioned by BK and have been convicted. Do we not want to be led by people with integrity and have a good track record?," he concluded. Previously, a member of the DPD RI Papua electoral district, Yorrys Raweyai criticized the leadership style of the Chairman of the DPD RI La Nyalla Mattalitti following the chaos of the Plenary session on Friday, July 12, last week.
According to Yorrys, the chaos was considered the aftermath and accumulation of the closed and exclusive La Nyalla and Nono Sampono leadership styles so far.
"Disappointment after disappointment due to authoritarian leadership style and closed Mr. La Nyalla and Mr. Nono have been accumulated for a long time, leading to peaked resistance," said Yorrys in his statement, Tuesday, July 16.
