Effect Of Indonesia Withdrawn From All England, PDIP Politician Suggests The Government To Explore Sports Potential In Islamic Boarding Schools
JAKARTA - Member of the House of Representative (DPR) from the PDIP Faction, Nabil Haroen, commented on the incident of the forced resignation of the Indonesian badminton team which was going to compete in All England. According to him, the mentality of the Indonesian team is a winning mentality.
However, in the aftermath of this incident, Nabil finally suggested the government explore the potential of other nation's children who excel in sports, especially in Islamic boarding schools (Pesantren).
"Pesantren has potential in sports. Many students have talents," said Nabil in a discussion on "All England Polemic and Nationalism" at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Monday, March 22.

For example, continued Nabil, in the Islamic Boarding School (Pesantren) there were also sports competitions such as badminton, soccer, the Santri League, and many more. Therefore, this PDIP politician asked the government and Commission X of the House of Representative (DPR) to be able to explore the potential of athletes from among the Islamic Boarding School (Pesantren) students.
"These are the potentials that I think the government should explore and through this opportunity, I will invite my colleagues at Commission X to try how sports in Islamic boarding schools can be explored and maximized again," said the member of Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representative (DPR).
