Apple Maps Web Version Launched In Beta Testing

JAKARTA Apple Maps, Apple's directional pointing app, can only be accessed in the form of an app for years. However, now it's no longer because Apple Maps will launch in a website version. On Wednesday, July 24, Apple revealed that Maps on the website is being tested in a public beta version. If it's released in a more stable version, all types of devices can access Apple Maps anywhere and anytime. Apple says that Maps will be released in English and will be compatible with Safari across Apple devices. In addition, Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge users, both on macOS and Windows devices, can access Apple Maps. "Support for languages, browsers, and additional platforms will be expanded over time," Apple explained. The iPhone developer does not provide an estimated time when new language and browser supports will be added.

Apple also explains that all developers, including those using MapKit JS, can link Maps to their web. By adding Maps, users can view directions while driving and view place information in detail. In addition, Maps on the website can be used to provide ratings and reviews from places they visit. Users can also order food directly from the place card on Maps, but this feature is not available across the country. "(users can see) curated guidance for finding places to eat, shop, and explore in cities around the world. Additional features, including See Around, will be available in the coming months," Apple explained.
