KKP Calls Indonesian Fisheries Exports Reaches IDR 43.9 Trillion

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) reported a number of performance achievements until the first semester of 2024.

Expert Staff to the Minister of Marine Affairs for Ecology and Sea Resources Hendra Yusran Siry said, there are seven main indicators of the KKP that can be calculated in the first semester of 2024.

"First, the growth of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) fishery reached 3.49 percent. Then, our fishery production reached 11,819,118 tons," said Hendra at a press conference on the Achievement of KKP Performance in Semester I 2024 at the KKP office, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 24.

Another achievement is the average exchange rate of Indonesian fishermen which reached 101.62 and the fish cultivators' exchange rate reached 101.35. Then, the export of Indonesian fishery products reached 2.71 billion US dollars or equivalent to Rp43.9 trillion and the value of fishery imports of 0.22 billion US dollars.

"Thus, our trade balance has a surplus of 2.49 billion US dollars," he said.

Next, Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) in the Indonesian marine and fisheries sector which touched the figure of 963.64 billion US dollars. "The fish export ratio and fishery products received by our export destination countries are 99.9 percent," he said.

In addition, said Hendra, the KKP also measures the realization outside of the performance indicator, namely, the realization of People's Business Credit (KUR). The realization reached Rp3.64 trillion which was submitted to 67,116 debtors.

Meanwhile, the distribution of revolving funds for the KKP financing institution reached IDR 152.61 billion in 64 districts/cities. "Thus, these are some achievements of course from the performance of the KKP," he added.
