Looking For Alternative West Java Cagub To Replace Sandiaga Uno, PKB: The Prospect Is Less Good
JAKARTA - Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Jazilul Fawaid admitted that his party is looking for a new figure who can be promoted as a candidate for Governor of West Java in the 2024 Pilkada.
Previously, PKB had looked at Menparekraf Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno to be carried in the West Java Pilgub. However, now PKB sees Sandi's electability as low.
"Jabar Pak Sandi did not go up and down. He is still looking for other alternatives," said Jazilul at the PKB DPP Office, Central Jakarta, Monday, July 22 evening.
Thus, PKB seemed to have failed to withdraw the PPP elite. Because, if PKB insists on carrying Sandiaga, it is feared that it will lose to other candidates who will compete in the West Java gubernatorial election.
"It looks like the prospects are not good," said Jazilul.
Meanwhile, Sandiaga also indicated that he was more confident in advancing in the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election than West Java even though there was already a party that looked at him.
"I know very well about DKI (Jakarta) because I have participated in the regional elections and served as deputy governor, but there has been no assignment (to advance) in DKI, so be patient to wait for assignments," said Sandiaga at Gedung Sate Bandung, Sunday, July 21.

Regarding his name being encouraged by PKB and PPP to advance in the West Java gubernatorial election, Sandiaga said it needed hard work because West Java is the province with the largest population in Indonesia.
"Incumbent itself has good track record, and the results of various surveys show that incumbents are very strong and superior here. I myself as a cadre do not have any assignments from the party, including for West Java," said Sandiaga.
