Kamala Harris Appears In Public After Biden Withdraws From The US Presidential Election, Praises Her Performance For America
JAKARTA - United States (US) Vice President Kamala Harris praised President Joe Biden's achievements in his first public appearance on Monday, July 22. Biden canceled his efforts to be re-elected and supported him as his successor in the US Presidential Election.
Joe Biden's legacy over the past three years is unmatched in modern history, Harris said at the White House event in honor of college athletes.
"Every day, our president, Joe Biden, fights for the American people and we are very grateful for his service to our nation," he added.
Harris did not specifically refer to his new status as the main presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, after Biden on Sunday, July 21, announced his resignation under growing pressure from fellow Democratic Party members.
Harris said in a post on X he would visit Biden's campaign headquarters in Delaware now Harris' campaign headquarters on Monday afternoon. He said Biden, who tested positive for COVID-19 last week, was already in better condition.
