Umpetin In Corn Boiling Is The Way This Perpetrator Smuggles Drugs To Samarinda Prison
SAMARINDA - Samarinda Class II A Narcotics Prison officers again thwarted an attempt to smuggle four packs of methamphetamine hidden in boiled corn."Today, we, the ranks of the Samarinda Narcotics Prison, again thwarted efforts to smuggle methamphetamine-type drugs and glass pipettes hidden through clear vegetables containing boiled corn," said Samarinda Hidayat, Head of Narcotics Class II A in Samarinda, as reported by Antara, Monday, July 22.The smuggling was discovered by officers during a food check at 14.05 WITA brought by visitors with the initials AP (38).When a detailed examination was carried out on a clear vegetable food deposit containing corn, officers found four packs of methamphetamine and one glass pipette.The incident was then reported in stages to the guard commander, the Head of the Prison Security Unit (KPLP), and the Hidayat Kalapas.Kalapas Hidayat then reported to the Head of the Correctional Division (Kadivpas) and the Head of the Regional Office (Kakanwil) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) of East Kalimantan.The Samarinda Narcotics Prison is also coordinating with the Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satreskoba) of the Samarinda Police for further investigation.He said the modes used in drug smuggling to prison environments were varied. Previously, prison officials had also thwarted the smuggling of methamphetamine hidden inside tennis balls, cooking vegetables, even from inside pecel rice packs.
"We continue to increase our vigilance and carry out strict checks on visitors' luggage to prevent drug trafficking in prisons," said Hidayat.
