Anies Asked To Find Additional 4 Seats, Secure Tickets For The 2024 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election
JAKARTA - Anies Baswedan was asked to immediately find four additional seats so that Anies Baswedan and Sohibul Iman (Aman) packages could get a forward ticket in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial and deputy governorial elections (Pilgub).
The reason is that PKS has offered 18 seats so that Anies Baswedan needs to contribute to achieving the minimum requirement to carry the cagub-cawagub pair in the Jakarta gubernatorial election, which is 22 seats.
This was conveyed by the Deputy Chairperson of the PKS Syuro Council, Sohibul Iman, who is also the candidate pair for the Anies duet, after attending the consolidation of PKS Jakarta at the Santika Hotel, Kelapa Gading, Sunday, July 21.
"If we use the logic of togetherness, this PKS nominates me by then offering 18 seats, right. Now, Mr. Anies wants to sail here, so we have to fulfill it, so look for four other seats. So God willing, we will try together," he said.
Sohibul admitted that after the declaration of the Safe package by PKS, no other party has supported the package until now. According to him, this is natural because currently, PKS and Anies Baswedan continue to carry out political communication to get additional seats as a registration requirement in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election.
"I think this is normal, yes, in politics, there is no simsalabim, of course there must be a process. Well, this process is of course occupied by us, both in terms of PKS, and of course also from the side of Mr. Anies," he said.

Sohibul said that he did not know firsthand the steps taken by Anies Baswedan to get the four additional seats. However, he said, from the information he got, Anies Baswedan was communicating with Nasdem, PKB and PDIP to support the Safe package in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election.
"Well, the information I got, Mr. Anies continued to struggle to communicate with Nasdem, with PKB, even now with PDIP as well. Well, we hope that later what Mr. Anies and also Mr. Syaikhu will produce results, maybe someone will join us," he concluded.
