Palestine Asks All Countries To Review Re-relations With Israel
JAKARTA - Palestine urged all countries and the United Nations (United Nations) to review its relations with Israel after the International Court (ICJ) issued a verdict on Friday (19/7), the Palestinian Foreign Ministry said.
Earlier on the same day, the UN court based in The Hague, the Netherlands ruled that Israeli settlement activities in Palestinian territories violated international law.
The Jewish state, said ICJ, must pay compensation for the damage caused during the occupation.
"All countries and the United Nations are now obliged not to recognize the legality of Israel's presence in the Palestinian Occupied Territories, and not to do anything to help Israel in defending this illegal situation," the Palestinian Foreign Ministry said.
"They were directed by the Court to end Israel's illegal occupation. This means -- all countries and the United Nations must immediately review their bilateral relations with Israel," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Through a review, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, countries and the United Nations are expected to ensure their policies do not lead to steps that help Israel continue aggression against the Palestinian people, either directly or indirectly.
