Passenger Check In Queues Piles Up, Global IT Disturbance Affects Soekarno-Hatta Airport Airline Services
JAKARTA - Global disruption to Microsoft equipment operations, a number of flight counterpassenger service systems at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta), Tangerang, Banten, were also affected.
As a result of this IT disruption, it affects flight passenger services. Like a long queue at door 4E, Citilink airline check-in at Terminal 3 of Soetta Airport on Friday night.
With this situation, the airport manager and airline also added service officers as a step to break down the accumulation of passengers.
It was also seen that a number of officers served the ticket check-in process for prospective passengers by doing it manually.
The incident was also confirmed by Pgs. SVP of Corporate Secretary AP II Cin Asmoro.
According to him, this IT system disruption occurred in a number of countries, and had an impact on several airline services.
"The departure process, namely checking in aircraft passengers and baggage, is carried out manually, specifically by airlines that experience interference with the IT system and are supported by the opening of more check-in counters at airports. Airlines that do not experience interference with the IT system continue to process departures using their IT system," he said.
During the disruption of IT systems in some of these airlines, the process of checking in aircraft passengers and baggage is carried out manually by airline personnel, specifically for airlines experiencing IT system problems.

In addition, AP II as the airport manager added aviation security personnel (Avsec) and alerted customer service personnel to assist aircraft passengers, as well as add check-in counters for airlines.
"AP II appeals to prospective aircraft passengers to arrive early at the airport to process departures, and coordinate with airlines. Airlines have also been informed to provide regular updates to passengers," he said.
Cin Asmoro emphasized that the IT system at all airports of the company functions well in serving flight operations and aircraft passengers.
"The IT system belonging to AP II at 20 AP II airports is running normally to support flight operations and services to airplane passengers," he said.
