Luna Maya And Maxime Bouttier Ready To Film Gundik Film, Umbara Brothers Production
JAKARTA - Umbara Brothers Film in collaboration with Makara Production and Rumpi Entertainment announced that they are ready to shoot Gundik. This film has a row of top players such as Luna Maya, Maxime Bouttier, Agus Kuncoro, Ratu Sofya, Rukman Rosadi, Dian Sidik, Arif Didu, Tyo Pakusadewo, Ence Bagus, Yati Surachman and Cornelio Sunny.
Writer and Director Anggy Umbara, who also occupied the Producer's seat with Indah Destriana, said the basic idea for the film came from the urban legend story which is still very relevant to the current situation.
"Humans are sometimes willing to do anything, even eliminate the human side in them, in order to gain positions, power, and wealth. Then I combine it with the story of Gundik which became a symbol of past success, because only those who have a lot of wealth and power can have prostitutes," he said.
If pulled straight, everything boils down to human greed. This is the common thread in the film Gundik.
"Every character has its own greed. The fluid is different, the impact of greed is different. This is what makes us interested in supporting Anggy in making the film Gundik," said Associate Producer, tender R.
Luna Maya admitted that she was immediately interested when she was offered to play in this film. Moreover, Luna admitted that she missed being directed back by Anggy Umbara. According to him, GUNDIK is not only a symbol of women's beauty, but also a symbol of strength and resistance to colonialism by counter-nominating at the same time.
"Prospects, thrones, and women. Women are often used as objects of men's anger. So it's a symbol of success if they can play women. This film shows that women also have their own greed. This equivalence really captivates me," he said.
Paired with Luna, Maxime Bouttier said he was enthusiastic. "When we got the opportunity to produce one title, of course we were enthusiastic," he said.

In addition, Maxime apparently wanted to be directed by Anggy Umbara for a long time. "This is the first feature film that will be shown on the big screen after Ticket to Paradise. The more enthusiastic it is to return to the big screen of Indonesia because working with Director Anggy Umbara is something I have wanted to do for a long time. Moreover, the story is very interesting, not just horror. But this film is complete, there is love, family drama, comedy, to gore and terror, which is endless," he said.
In line with Maxime, Agus Kuncoro did not take long to decide to return to acting on the big screen since the vacuum from 2016. "The one who wrote the scenario and direct Anggy Umbara. That's enough for me to be involved in this film." he said.
Tio Pakusadewo also felt enthusiastic about being paired back with Luna Maya. "Akting Luna makes it easier for co-stars to play. I think there is no reason to refuse this film," he said.
The shooting process for the film Gundik will be held from July to Aguatus this year, by taking locations in Jabodetabek, to the Beach area around West Java.
