About The Drawing Of Europa League Quarter-Finals

JAKARTA - Manchester United met Granada in the Europa League quarter-finals. Meanwhile, Arsenal will face Slavia Prague, according to the results of the draw conducted by UEFA, Friday, March 19.

MU arrived in the quarter-finals thanks to Paul Pogba's only goal that sealed victory at the San Siro, while Granada escaped with a 3-2 aggregate advantage despite having to lose 1-2 in the second leg against Molde.

This will be the first meeting between MU and Granada, who have never played a competitive match before.

Meanwhile, Arsenal entered the quarter-final against Slavia with a sweet note in the 2007/08 Champions League where they recorded a landslide win 7-0.

The result is Arsenal's biggest winning margin in Europe, as well as the worst defeat for Slavia in the Blue Continent commission.

The other quarter-finals brought together two sole representatives of the Netherlands and Italy in the European competition this season, namely Ajax vs AS Roma.

The two teams have only met twice so far, namely in 2002/03 Champions League second round which ended 1-1, with Roma and Ajax won 2-1 at home.

Dinamo Zagreb, who arrived in the quarter-finals with a resounding comeback against Tottenham Hotspur, will meet Villarreal, who is managed by specialist Europa League coach, Unai Emery.

The two teams met in the 2010/11 Europa League group stage where they both triumphed over each other at home, Dinamo 2-0 and Villarreal 3-0.
