Batam Prosecutor's Office Names 4 Corruption Suspects For The BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Building Project

The Batam District Attorney (Kejari) has named 4 people as suspects in the corruption crime of the construction of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Sekupang building for the period 2021 to 2022 with a loss value of around Rp709 million.

"Today we have named 4 suspects, namely sister A, sister JXR, brother BSE and brother BW," said Batam Chief Prosecutor I Ketut Kasna Dedi at the Batam Kejari building, reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 15.

Kasna explained that the two suspects came from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and two other suspects from the consultant.

The position of the case, in 2020 BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Sekupang will procure it using a direct appointment method in the form of finding a planning consultant provider.

The procurement of the building was carried out in 2019 in Cemara Asri, Block BB1 No. 30, 31, 32a and 32b in Sekupang, Batam City.

"Then at the time of the consultant's service work, the results were not appropriate," he said.

At the time it was about to be built, he continued, it turned out that the providers who would build were not willing to continue because of the impossible condition of the building.

"This means that there are conditions where this consultant service activity is considered ineligible so that work cannot be continued," he said.

The modus operandi of the suspects is when making appointments or selections of providers through direct appointments.

"Although this provider does not meet the requirements, it is still passed or an appointment is made to the company, so that the results presented do not meet the requirements," said Kasna.

This case is still being investigated to find other suspects. At the same time, how much corruption funds were enjoyed by the suspect.

The four suspects face a criminal sentence of 20 years in prison under the suspicion of Article 2 or Article 3 of the Corruption Crime Act.

After being named a suspect, the Batam Prosecutor's Office detained him for 14 days at the Barelang Detention Center.
