Palisen Wins 13th Etape Tour De France, Yellow Jersey Still Worn By Tadij Pogacar
JAKARTA -Ramad Philipsen from the Alpecin-Deceuninck team managed to achieve a brilliant victory at the 13th stage of the Tour de France, on Friday, July 12, 2024. This victory was his second win at this year's Tour de France. Philipsen showed outstanding performance by defeating Wout van Alert (Visma-Lease a Bike) who finished in second place, and Pascal Accountmann (Israel-Premier Tech) who finished third.
The race, which started from Agent to Pau, was very tense with various actions and attacks from the riders. Jonas Abrahamsen from the Uno-X Mobility team carried out a solo attack during the 3 km remaining race, unfortunately his effort was stopped by a 2.5 km Peloton ahead of finishing.

In addition, Magnus Cort Nielsen from the Uno-X Mobility team also impressed and won the Combatity Award as the most aggressive racer in this stage.
Throughout etape, the Visma-Lease a Bike and Alpecin-Deceuninck teams took the initiative to control the peloton, especially in the face of attacks from various racers. The average speed was high, reaching 49.2 km/h in the first two hours, showing how tight competition was in this etape. A series of attacks and chases continued until finally the peloton managed to catch up with the riders trying to escape.
On the other hand, Tadj Pogacar of the UAE Team Emirates team maintained his position as leader of the general standings and wore a yellow jersey. Despite many changes in the top ten, Pogacar still shows his strength as one of the best riders in the world today.

The 13th Etape was also marked by the drama of the elimination of two riders from the top ten, namely Primoz Roglic (Visma-Lease a Bike) and Juan Ayuso (UAE Team Emirates), both of whom had to withdraw from racing. Roglic suffered an injury that forced him to quit, while Ayuso also had to withdraw due to health problems. This incident reminds us of the 9th etape Tour de France 2017, in which two top riders, Geraint Thomas and Richie Porte, also had to leave the race due to an accident.
With this victory, ten Philipsen further confirmed his position as one of the best sprinters in the Tour de France 2024. Meanwhile, Tadej Pogacar remains at the top of the general standings, ready to face the challenges in the next stage. Tour de France this year still leaves many surprises and interesting actions to look forward to.
