Genesis GV60 Magma Concept Officially Enters Production Stage Next Year

JAKARTA - Genesis has launched a sub-brand Magma to present high-performance cars. Now, the car has been introduced to the public for the first time through the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024.

In addition, this premium brand also brings other interesting news, namely the Genesis GV60 Magma Concept model, which is confirmed to enter the production stage next year as well as make it the first production car presented by the sub-brand.

"We are excited to present the global dynamical debut of GV60 Magma Concept at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024," said Genesis Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke, on the brand's official website, Friday, July 12.

This SUV-shaped car will go on sale on the South Korean market in the third quarter of next year as EV and will designally follow the concept version. Then, GV60 Magma will launch in European territory in the late quarter of 2025.

Compared to the existing product lineup, the production model in the Genesis Magma program will be equipped with various special features aimed at increasing the pleasure of sporty driving while ensuring energyless comfort.

The magma model will feature a wider and lower body design, combined with an exclusive chassis and suspension components that have been carefully designed to improve overall performance.

Another interesting thing, Genesis will provide an authentic and exclusive sound system to the Magma lineup so that it can provide a dynamic machine voice experience and increase the excitement of the journey.

Each Magma vehicle is built carrying three pillars, namely Unspoker Dominance, Captivating Control, and Sharpened Immersion.

Genesis GV60 Magma uses the same E-GMP platform as Kia EV6 and Ioniq 5 as well as the latest Hyundai N high performance version. It is estimated that Genesis's power will be slightly larger than Ioniq 5 N which produces 600 dk of power and 748 Nm of torque.

Meanwhile, the setup of the GV60 Magma Concept battery and electric motor will not be much different from the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, with an 84kWh battery and an electric motor in each doubler.

In addition to the GV60, Genesis also showcased a number of concept models from Magma consisting of Goodwood consisting of G80 Magma Special, and X Gran Berlinetta Concept.
