Biodiesel 40 Percent Applies Early In 2025

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif ensured that the fuel mixed with palm oil with diesel will increase from 35 percent to 40 percent.

For the continuation, said Arifin, the trial will be carried out in early 2024.

"Wait at the beginning of the year (next), we are ready," Arifin told the media when met at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Friday, July 12.

Arfin also said that his Ministry had prepared technical matters related to the trial of this langkung-friendly fuel, including the supply of palm oil.

"We are ready. The trial is ready, technically ready, the supply is also ready, the funding is ready, just launch it," continued Arifin.

Previously, the Director General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE), Eniya Listiani Dewi, said that her party had coordinated with the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS) to prepare for palm oil production.

"Our current production capacity is more than B40, so if you want to apply the B40, there are still around 4 million tons left, so there is still a lot of potential," said Eniya, quoted on Friday, July 12.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is also known to have started testing the startability of building generator generators using biodiesel fuel B40.

The test of the generator's initiality was opened by the Head of the LEMIGAS Center, represented by the Coordinator of the Testing Group for the Cahyo Widodo LEMIGAS Product Application and attended by representatives of the Directorate General of EBTKE, Aprobi, BPDPKS, Directorate General of Oil and Gas, PT PLN (Persero), PT PLN Puslitbang, and BRIN.
