Samsung Will Update Bixby With AI Support

JAKARTA Samsung is too focused on increasing the Galaxy AI to miss the Bixby update. This virtual assistant is supposed to get Artificial Intelligence (AI) support, but that hasn't happened yet. When discussing the increase in AI in mobile phones, smartphone manufacturers usually increase the function of its virtual assistants. Samsung has promised this improvement since last April, but Bixby has not been integrated with AI to date. Although there has been no progress yet, Samsung has again promised integration of AI in Bixby. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience (MX) Business Samsung Electronics told CNBC that this increase is in progress. TM Roh insists that Samsung will, "submit Bixby with (application) Gen AI technology. This improvement will use Samsung's Large Language Model (LLM) so Bixby can communicate more naturally. To advance Bixby, Samsung will focus on two things, namely a more natural language and redefine the virtual assistant. TM Roh does not explain what is meant by redefinitioning Bixby.

The owner of Max Jambor's account on platform X, citing from 9to5google, said that the Bixby and LLM merger will occur in the near future. Although the time is not clear, Samsung will have to improve its virtual assistant in the near future. Google Assistant, a virtual assistant widely used on Android devices, has made many improvements. Google has also launched Gemini which functions as a virtual assistant. If Samsung doesn't develop its virtual assistant, Bixby will be even more left behind.
