Agus Rahardjo Asks KPU To Strike Out Condang Kusumaning As A Member Of The East Java DPD Due To Violating The Rules

JAKARTA - A candidate for DPD RI East Java member, Agus Rahardjo and his attorney visited the General Elections Commission (KPU) today, Thursday, July 11.

The former chairman of the KPK asked the candidate to be selected number four, Kondang Kusumaning Ayu to be crossed out because the decision of the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) stated that there was an administrative violation.

"We ask the Indonesian KPU as the authorized institution to coordinate, organize, and control all stages of the election to cancel the candidate for DPD for the East Java Election Regional on behalf of the sister of Kondang Kusumaning Ayu because it has been legally proven that it does not meet the requirements," said Agus Rahardjo's attorney, Febri Diansyah in a written statement.

Febri, who is a former KPK spokesman, explained that Kondang should have been dropped because of his DPD administration staff status. This is because he violated Article 48 paragraph 3 of PKPU Number 6 of 2024.

Instead, continued Febri, the KPU should have appointed Agus Rahardjo who in the last election was in fifth position with 2,205,069 valid votes.

Meanwhile, Agus' other attorney, Donal Fariz, said that Kondang had never resigned, such as the description of Bawaslu Decision Number 002/LP/ADM.PL/BWS.PROV/16.00/IV.2024 on May 20. He also still received income sourced from state finances.

"That if the KPU continues to enforce, there is a risk of violating laws and regulations in the form of administrative violations of elections and violations of the election organizers' code of ethics," he said.

In addition, Article 426 Paragraph 2 of the Election Law also states that the decision to determine the famous can be null and void. Especially if he does not meet the requirements.

Meanwhile, Agus' presence at the KPU office was carried out as well as submitted a letter for the second time. His previous camp had sent a letter some time ago.
