Perumnas Gets IDR 1 Trillion PMN, Erick Thohir Asks To Focus On Building Housing Levels
JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir revealed that there were a number of notes provided by Commission VI of the DPR when he approved an injection of State Equity Participation (PMN) to Perum Perumnas worth IDR 1 trillion.
Erick explained that Commission VI of the DPR wanted to get to know more about the business model and the transformation carried out in Perum Perumnas. Given that there is a backlog of 3 million houses today.
"They want to get to know more about the business model or improvement than the transformation of the Perumnas business because with the current 3 million backlog, they want Perumnas' strategy to be even better," he told reporters, written Thursday, July 11.
According to Erick, the business concept of Perum Perumnas must leave a landed house. This is related to the situation of land in Indonesia which is now increasingly limited.
"The situation of land or land area in Indonesia is indeed 70 percent of the sea, 30 percent of which can be explored. Well, the concept of Perumnas itself cannot possibly stand alone, but rather for the construction of graded houses," he explained.
Erick revealed that Perum Perumnas has recently succeeded in building vertical housing, even close to train stations.
Therefore, he said, the strategy for building housing in the form of apartments adjacent to public transportation facilities will continue to be launched, so that the value of assets will increase positively.
"People's acceptance is also very good. Why? Because the location is good and of course for transportation is also easier," he explained.
On the other hand, Erick said, the public also welcomed the concept called Transit Oriented Development (TOD) because residential locations could be closer to public transportation access.
"These things are indeed breakthroughs that we have to work on, TOD concepts like this in the future, compared to stand-alone housing without any supporting infrastructure," said Erick.
In addition, Erick also said that Commission VI of the DPR provided notes to Perum Perumnas to build targeted housing with the availability of road access, electricity, and clean water.
However, continued Erick, to carry out every house construction assignment in the regions, it is necessary to support commitment and coordination from local governments and other ministries so that supporting facilities can be met.
"Indeed, it is necessary to support when the assignment to build a house must have a commitment from the regional government or other ministries, so that the supporting facilities can be fulfilled, not only building houses in places where there is no accessibility," he said.
