OnePlus And OPPO Produce 7,000mAh Battery For Smartphone

JAKARTA - OnePlus and OPPO are reportedly developing a battery with a capacity of 7,000mAh for their smartphone. This information comes from a well-known leaker, the Digital Chat Station, which claims via Weibo that this large battery may be present on middle-class phones.

The 7,000mAh battery device is nothing new, as several mainstream phones such as the Samsung Galaxy F62 and the Galaxy M51 already use similar batteries. In fact, there are niche phones that offer batteries with a capacity of up to 10,000mAh or even 20,000mAh. However, these phones generally have a thick and heavy design. Most mainstream Android phones usually only use up to 5,000mAh-capacity batteries in recent years.

OnePlus recently introduced silicon-based battery technology as part of its Glacier Battery technology in the Ace 3 Pro. Silicon-based batteries typically have higher densities than traditional batteries, allowing for larger capacities in smaller sizes.

The Ace 3 Pro itself has a thickness of less than 9mm and weighs only 207 grams. Therefore, it makes sense that phones with silicon batteries with a capacity of 7,000mAh will not experience a significant increase in thickness and weight.

Apart from OnePlus, other companies such as HONOR and Xiaomi have also released phones with silicon-based battery technology. So, your next device may offer a larger battery or the same battery capacity in smaller sizes.
