Badung Police Are Looking For Empty Suitcase Owners Who Are Thought To Be Filled With Bombs

Badung Resort Police, Bali is still investigating the motive and looking for the owner of an empty suitcase that is thought to contain a bomb in front of the entrance to Puri Penarungan, Banjar Dauh Peken, Penarungan Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency, Bali.

"While we haven't found the perpetrators, we are still looking for CCTV footage and gathering witness statements," said Head of the Badung Police Public Relations Section Ipda I Putu Sukarma, Tuesday, July 9.

Sukarma stated that the Bali Police Bomb Disposal Unit had carried out the handling using a bomb suit, then carried out x-rays of the suspected suitcase. The police also did not find any explosives in the gray suitcase that was not owned.

"The result of the x-ray was found with no explosives or bombs. After the suitcase was opened manually, no suspicious object was found," he said. The suitcase did not contain anything.

After the handling was completed, the Jibom unit handed over the empty suitcase to the Mengwi Police for further investigation.

Previously, residents in Penarungan, Badung Regency, Monday at around 08.00 WITA were surprised by the suitcase lying in front of the entrance to Puri Penarungan, Banjar Dauh Peken, Penarungan Village, Mengwi District, Badung.

Residents who saw the suitcase were not owned then reported to the police because they were feared to contain explosives. The Bomb Disposal Team from the Bali Police also intervened to secure the suitcase.

Until now, the police have not found the owner of the suitcase.
